This song has its roots in those rare and unique moments when you are all alone and the conditions are just right where the waves wash up on shore at the same time that there is a very gentle refreshing breeze. I experienced these rare condition just three times in my life. Once on the shores of Hoffmaster Park on Lake Michigan between Grand Haven and Muskegon; Once in the the Kahuku Mountains of north Oahu as a soldier while left for the night to guard my jeep and trailer; and once in Tawas City on the shores of Lake Huron while my family was in the camper getting ready for bed.
