The painting/art work for this album is by Eugene Dunn, my father in law, now deceased. Having initially seen it some years ago, it grew on me to the point that I see it as having some amazing attributes that make the image shimmer such that it almost looks real. Prints are available.

Friends Good Will

No waking out of the harbor,
full of friends and Good Will.
Breaking out into blue water,
raising sails the winds to fill.
Following the shoreline,
of barking sand filled dunes.
Tacking toward the sunset,
she has to come around too soon.

Dancing on the fresh water,
her friends of Good Will wave hello.
No waking back into the harbor,
too soon her new friends they must go.
But they leave friends Good Will.
But they leave friends Good Will.

She waits in the harbor all through the night,
until the morning breaking dawn light.
When all new friends goodwill arrive,
and gather round her at the dock side.
Where she'll be no waking out of the harbor,
full of friends and good will.
Breaking into blue water,
raising sails the winds to fill.
Following the shoreline,
of barking sand filled dunes.
Taking neath the the sunshine,
she has to come around too soon.

Let's go sailing let's go sailing let's go sailing soon.
Let's go sailing let's go sailing let's go sailing soon.
Aboard Friends Good Will.
Aboard Friends Good Will.

Let's go sailing let's go sailing let's go sailing soon.
Let's go sailing let's go sailing let's go sailing soon.

Let's go sailing let's go sailing let's go sailing soon.

Welcome

A sailor loves the open seas.
In port he shares his memories.
His stories capture you and me.
We long to sail along with him
And so we can, aboard The Welcome.
All aboard the Welcome.

A part of Mackinaw Straits Lore,
Ever since 1774,
She’s sailed these pristine Third-Coast shores.
And still today, she calls to all, Welcome!
All aboard the Welcome.

A sailor loves the open seas.
In port he shares his memories.
His stories capture you and me.
We long to sail along with him
And so we can, aboard The Welcome.
All aboard the Welcome.

Manitou

I know a place where a tall ship is sailing.
It’s leaving from port yet today.
The good crew and captain they are waiting;
Waiting to take us away

I want to sail with you on the Manitou, the tall ship in the bay.
I want to sail with you on the Manitou,
And let the Manitou – take us away.
Let the Manitou – take us away.

The Manitou can show us the islands,
and maybe even Sleeping Bear.
The Manitou can show us the sunset.
On Manitou we can breathe fresh air.

I want to be with you on the Manitou,
and watch the stars come out at night.
I want to be with you on the Manitou,
and let the Manitou – take us away.
Let the Manitou – take us away.

We only have so many hours. We only have so many days,
So I want to sail with you on the Manitou, before they all slip away.
Before they all pass away.

I know a place where a tall ship is sailing.
It’s leaving from port yet today.
The good crew and captain they are waiting;
waiting to take us away.

Inland Seas

Now I don’t have a fancy car,
And my money don’t go that far.
So I can’t buy you, much you see.
And I can’t take you to Waikiki.
But there’s some things I can do for you,
and that’s to love you faithfully,
And to take you places you’ve never seen,
sailing upon the Inland Seas.
Sailing upon the Inland Seas.

So I can’t give you everything.
Not many carrots, on a ring.
But I think we could be so happy,
if you would come away with me.
To the places that you’ve never seen,
sailing upon the Inland Seas,
Sailing upon the Inland Seas.

Now I don’t know a lot of things,
but I know, my dreams lack wings,
Because I know you’ll never sail away with me,
to places that you've never seen. .
And I know you’ll never be with me,
Sailing upon the Inland Seas,
Sailing upon the Inland Seas.

And so the days will be full of empty,
as the nights echo your name,
Until those days have all faded away,
and just the Inland Seas remain.

Madiline

Out of Traverse Bay, in the Summer time.
The Tall Ship Queen f the maritime.
Calls us to waters of the Inland Seas.
To celebrate their history, and mistery.
Madiline, Madiline.
Won’t you sail with me aboard the Madiline?

Tacking her way to her destinies.
Gliding on the surface, the way its mean to be.
On the horizing, new places to see.
Fresh water spray, covers you and me.
Madiline, Madiline.
Won’t you sail with me aboard the Madiline?

Last call to join me, on this journey.
Heed the call, and signal me.
Together, we’ll explore, the mysteries.
And add our own chapter, to her history.
Madiline, Madiline.
Won’t you sail with me aboard the Madiline?

Appledores

The Appledores sail the Huron,
from the Sunrise side bay.
The Appledores sail the Huron,
to teach us all creation’s way.
The Appledores show us the way,
to keep the sunshine on our bays.

The Appledores sail the Great Lakes,
from the city on the bay
The Appledores sail the Great Lakes,
that we might learn the windward way.
The Appledores show us the way,
to keep the sunshine on our bays.

We’re all stewards of God’s creation,
appointed caretakers, not castaways,
With roles to play, all of our days;
and work to do, not stowaways.
And the Appledores, can show us the way,
to keep the sunshine on our bays.

The Appledores sail the Huron,
from the Sunrise side bay.
The Appledores sail the Huron,
to teach us all, creation’s way.
The Appledores show us the way,
to keep the sunshine on our bays.
The Appledores show us the way,
to keep the sunshine on our bays.
