Fresh Water

Hiawatha sang, and Hemingway wrote,
of a magical place,
Where Fitzgerald once float,
A place of fresh water.

A place of shining seas,
as far as you can see,
And if you want to find me,
you know where I’ll be,
Near the fresh water.

Some people want to drain it away,
to another place,
So they can water their lawns,
and wash their face,
In the fresh water.

So if you were to ask me,
it’s a place you should see,
Before there no longer be,
A place of fresh water.

Hiawatha sang, and Hemingway wrote,
of a magical place,
Where Fitzgerald once float,
A place of fresh water.
