Before Hollywood there was the Actor's Colony. Started by Buster Keaton's family in the Bluffton area of Muskegon Michigan, Buster spent his summers there and once took my grandma Esther dancing when she worked at the local restaurant called Pascoes. My family has taken the interesting walking tour and attended the International Buster Keaton Convention held in Muskegon each October. There are statues of Buster and a commemorative marker about him at the entrance to the Actor's Colony.
